A man has been jailed for seven years for multiple sex attacks on a young girl in Rotherham.

Daniel Raymond Cooper, aged 32, admitted five offences including indecent assault, sexual activity with a child and attempted unlawful sexual activity with a child under 13-years-old.

Sheffield Crown Court heard he committed the offences in Rotherham between 1999 and 2004, before moving away from the town.

His victim reported the offences in May 2014 and a police probe was launched.

In addition to his prison sentence, Cooper, previously of Drummond Road, Bournemouth, was issued with an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which prevents him from having unsupervised contact with any child under 16.”
