Last Friday (August 21), officers from across the force including specialist domestic abuse teams targeted outstanding suspects, some of whom were suspected of evading arrest.
Sergeant Nikki Watkinson said: “On Friday, six men and one woman were arrested on suspicion of a range of offences including common assault, criminal damage, threats to kill and harassment.

“The others have either received cautions, domestic violence protection notices or been bailed while we continue our investigations.”
Sgt Watkinson added: “While we deal with these types of investigations and offences every single day, targeted days of activity like Friday are important as they allow us to bring together significant amounts of dedicated resources which can make a difference.
“Enquiries on the day led to us arresting a number of people suspected of serious offences. Domestic abuse can have a significant and life-changing impact upon a victim and I hope this demonstrates our commitment to tackling the issue in our city.
