Discarded settees, carpets and other household rubbish were set alight in an arson attack outside a block of flats in Sheffield.
The blaze outside Castle Court flats, Park HiIl, broke out at 12.40am today.
Heat from the fire cracked a number of windows in the nearby flats.
Firefighters said they struggled to park close to the blaze because of motorists parking on both sides of the street, blocking access.
A South Yorkshire Fire Service spokesman said: “Firefighters are reminding residents to park vehicles responsibly to allow emergency vehicles to get through.
“Vehicles parked on both sides of the road made it difficult for fire crews to gain access to the site.”
Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
