Serial thief jailed after stealing more than £200 worth of goods 'within a few minutes'
A serial thief from Sheffield who stole almost £250 worth of goods from one shop ‘within a few minutes’ has been jailed for one year.
Stephanie Coggan, aged 32, from the Firth Park area, has been convicted of multiple offences of theft after she was caught red-handed.
Sergeant Wood from the Broomhall team, that sits within the Sheffield North West Neighbourhood Policing team, posted on Facebook: “Coggan, a repeat offender, targeted and repeatedly stole from shops on Ecclesall Road.
"As Coggan left and re-entered one store several times within a few minutes, it drew the attention of local officers. Coggan had stole £239 worth of goods. Officers Simmonds and Omar swooped down and caught her red-handed with stolen goods and makeup.”
Commenting on a mugshot of Coggan, Sergeant Wood said: “Obviously the photo was taken before make-up was stolen.
“Coggan will be out just in time for Christmas next year!”
