Security coding for bikes

Have your say

CYCLISTS in Chesterfield can have their bikes security coded free of charge at the weekend.

Police officers from the Chesterfield Town Centre Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team will be marking up bikes in Market Place, near to Natwest and the Market Hall, between 10am and 2pm on Saturday.

John Lockwood said: “Having your cycle security marked will not only help to reduce the potential of having your bike stolen, but it would also help officers to return it should it be recovered.

“We would also advise people to always make sure they store bicycles securely in a shed or garage whenever possible; alternatively use a good quality chain and lock to fix your bike to a secure anchor point if they are left outside.”
