A 21-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to an address on Newland Avenue in Maltby on Saturday, November 16, shortly before midday.

A second woman, aged 22, was taken to hospital that day in what police described as a ‘serious but stable’ condition.

South Yorkshire Police this week said the 22-year-old was out of hospital but is still receiving specialist care as she continues her recovery.

Police said at the time the younger woman’s death was not being suspicious, and no details have been released about how she died or what happened to the second woman.

The 21-year-old has yet to be publicly named and Doncaster Coroner’s Court said it was unable to confirm whether an inquest into her death had been opened.
