Second man arrested after Sheffield girl disappears

A second man has been arrested on suspicion of child abduction following the disappearance of a Sheffield teenager.

The 37-year-old was arrested in Bradford this morning as the search for Erika Kacicova continues.

Erika, 13, was last seen at her home in Poole Road, Darnall, a week ago today.

She is 4ft 11ins tall, Eastern European, slim, with long, dark-brown, straight hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, a denim short-sleeved top; over a pink Adidas zip up hoodie. The hoodie has yellow stripes down the arms and a white Adidas motif on the front. She was also wearing denim style ankle boots.

Erika speaks Slovakian, and English with an Eastern European accent.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “This man was arrested on suspicion of child abduction. He is in police custody and currently on his way to Sheffield to be interviewed by officers.

“Numerous calls were received by police after yesterday’s appeals and officers are working hard to piece together all the information in a bid to find Erika.”
