Scores of tyres set alight in arson attack in Doncaster

Scores of tyres were torched in an arson attack in Doncaster – tying firefighters up for three hours.

Around 80 lorry tyres were found engulfed in flames on Doncaster Road, Kirk Sandall, at around 9pm yesterday.

While firefighters dealt with the incident, a caution was placed on the railway because of the amount of smoke the blaze generated.

The fire was started deliberately.

Sheffield firefighters dealt with a car set alight on Fleury Crescent, Gleadless Valley, last night.
