The incidents echo similar thefts in Ecclesfield and Oughtibridge earlier this week.

In the Eccclesfield incident, overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday, thieves stripped a car parked on High Street of its bonnet, number plate and front bumper.

They wrote ‘S2 crew again ha ha’ on the icy windscreen to link the theft to the work of a specific criminal gang.

The day before, a bonnet and head lights were stolen from a car in Oughtibridge.

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
