On-the-run killer back behind bars after absconding from South Yorkshire prison
A convicted killer who went on the run after absconding from a South Yorkshire prison is back behind bars.
Ryan Hill left Hatfield Open Prison in Doncaster on Christmas Eve and failed to return as planned.
The 41-year-old was jailed for manslaughter in 2008 and recalled to prison for burglary in 2019.
He was tracked down by officers from Thames Valley Police yesterday and returned to South Yorkshire for questioning about his disappearance and to serve the rest of his sentence.
