A Rotherham woman was ordered to pay over £500 in fines and court costs after pleading guilty to fraudulently using a blue badge to park free of charge in the town.

Lana Wilson–Wolfe, of Winterwell Road, Wath-upon-Dearne, admitted using her father’s blue badge to park her car on Wharncliffe Street, Rotherham, free of charge in October last year.

The 49-year-old, in a letter to Rotherham magistrates, said she was ‘very sorry’ and that she had believed that she could use her father’s badge when shopping for his needs.

The court fined her £200 and ordered her to pay costs of £300 together with a victim surcharge of £20.
