Rotherham woman caught with kitchen knife in street fined
A woman has been fined after she was caught with a kitchen knife in a street following a confrontation.
Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard how Roxanne Daley, aged 30, of Elm Grove, Greasborough, Rotherham, was spotted by a witness after a confrontation with another woman on Effingham Street, Rotherham.
Rob Coyne, prosecuting, said that the defendant offered up a kitchen knife to the witness and police were alerted.
Daley pleaded guilty to possessing a kitchen knife in a public place on December 9 without good reason or lawful authority. District Judge Naomi Redhouse sentenced Daley to a 12-month community order with a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.
Daley was also ordered to pay a £25 fine, a £90 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
