A Rotherham man who subjected his girlfriend to a sickening attack which left her suffering from broken ribs and needing stitches in her eye has been jailed for two years.
Jermaine Gordon subjected his girlfriend to four separate attacks in 2013 during which he punched her, butted her, pulled her hair and pushed her into a bath, Sheffield Crown Court heard.
Gordon, aged 23, of Willgowgarth Avenue, then violently attacked the single mum in a fifth incident while her son was asleep in bed.
Stephanie Hollis, prosecuting, said Gordon rang the victim at 2am and asked if he could come and see her.
He attacked her, pulling her around the room, punching her 10 times and kicking her as she lay on the ground.
She was left ‘upset and terrified’ and called an ambulance.
Gordon admitted harassment and inflicting grievous bodily harm.
Judge Jacqueline Davies told Gordon it was a ‘sustained attack, at night in the victim’s home’ and jailed him for two years.
