Rotherham man fined for breaching domestic violence order

A man has been fined after he breached a Domestic Violence Protection Order by going to his partner’s address and speaking to her.

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard today, Tuesday, December 17, how Adrian Knowles, aged 48, of Chaffinch Avenue, Brinsworth, Rotherham, had been made subject to a DVPO after he had been arrested for an alleged assault.

Aaron Dinnes, prosecuting, said a DVPO had been imposed on Knowles following his arrest for an alleged assault and the defendant was ordered not to contact the individual concerned or go to her address.

Mr Dinnes claimed Knowles stayed at his partner’s address on December 16 and there had been an argument over cigarettes and he left and returned and was let in and then left.

Matt Hague, defending, said Knowles had received a call from his partner and calls were exchanged and she invited him to the property and there had been no threats or violence.

Magistrates fined Knowles £50.
