Rotherham man is charged with assaulting and spitting on South Yorkshire ambulance staff

A 26-year old man has been charged in connection to an assault on two Yorkshire Ambulance Service staff.

It is reported that on Thursday 19 December, around 10pm, Yorkshire Ambulance Service received a call for reports of an unconscious man on Clarendon Road in Rotherham.

It is believed that once the ambulance crew arrived on scene the man, who has been named as Justin Webb, 26, of Rotherview Road, Rotherham, became aggressive and assaulted both emergency service workers.

A 26-year-old ambulance colleague was spat at in his face and mouth and a 27 year-old ambulance colleague was spat at and sustained injuries to his face and jaw.

On Friday 20 December, Webb was charged with two counts of assault on an emergency service worker.

He was been remanded in police custody to appear before Sheffield Magistrates Court.

The date of his appearance is to be confirmed.
