Rotherham man appears in court over attempted murder

A Rotherham man charged with attacks on a woman and her three young children has appeared in court.

Steven Challands, aged 34, of Purcell Close, Maltby, Rotherham, is charged with attempted murder, four counts of false imprisonment, two counts of grievous bodily harm and one count of actual bodily harm.

He is alleged to have committed the offences in the village of Sennen in Cornall on Saturday, May 3.

Challands appeared at Truro Crown Court yesterday and was remanded in custody until his next hearing on September 15.
