Rotherham crime: Watch as police uncover £200,000 cannabis farm during raids
Police have seized cannabis plants worth an estimated £200,000 during a raid in Rotherham this morning.
Officers discovered 199 plants at a property just outside Rotherham town centre today, Wednesday, October 2, and arrested a man on suspicion of producing Class B drugs.

They also seized cannabis, snappy bags and cash, and arrested a man and a woman on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, after raiding another property in the Holmes area of Rotherham.
Those raids were among a series of warrants executed by officers across the town as part of Operation Duxford, targeting retail crime, drug supply and anti-social behaviour.
As well as carrying out the raids, officers have flooded the streets in partnership with Rotherham Council, in an attempt to combat street drinking, begging, drug use and other anti-social behaviour.
South Yorkshire Police have urged people to get in touch if they believe a property near them is being used to grow cannabis.
The force said the tell-tale signs include:
- Heavy smell of cannabis
- Windows blacked out
- Excessive condensation on windows
- Blocked letterbox
- Heavy use of anti-odour devices
- Visitors at unusual hours, only staying for a short period of time.
