Prosecutor Richard Davies told Sheffield Crown Court on Friday how Lukac entered through a small front window, but was traced through two fingerprints he left behind.

On Friday, the court heard he has five convictions which include driving offences and assaulting a police officer, and was on a court order at the time.

Richard Barradell, mitigating, said Lukas, a Hungarian, "was off the rails" at the time, and had been “led on by others who supplied him with drugs.”

"He has a nine-month old daughter with a heart problem,” he said. "He would love a second chance."

Lukacs, 20, of Hollowgate, Rotherham, admitted the burglary on November 5.

He told them to be silent and said: "I will not tolerate wailing in the public gallery."

Turning to Lukac, he said: "At the time you were consuming drugs and you were associating with other criminals.

"Not one month before you were the subject of a court order. You plainly have scant regard for the law of this country. Your only mitigation is your guilty plea at the first opportunity."
