Robbers steal money from travel agents

ROBBERS escaped with cash from a Sheffield travel agency after threatening a member of staff while demanding money.

The gang of men struck at Hay’s Travel on Lound Side, Chapeltown, as staff were working at the shop.

Police have not yet revealed whether the men were armed or how many were involved, but said the robbers threatened one of the workers and left with a ‘quantity of money’.

The robbers, who have not yet been traced, are believed to have used a getaway vehicle to flee the scene.

A police spokeswoman said: “It is believed a number of men have entered the store. One of the men then threatened a member of staff and made demands for money.

“The men then left the store with a quantity of money, in what is believed to be a grey vehicle.

“No one was injured during the incident.“

Anyone with information about the raid at 5pm on Thursday, November 17, should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident 800 of November 17.
