Robber hunted by police after threatening staff in Sheffield shop raid

A manhunt is under way for a robber who threatened staff in a shop raid in Sheffield.

He struck at the Co-op on Oldfield Road, Stannington, at around 8.30pm on Sunday, February 28.

South Yorkshire Police said the masked man threatened shop staff while demanding that cash was placed in a large, yellow shopping bag.

He also ordered staff to hand over cigarettes.

The robber was last seen walking along Stannington Road in the direction of Deer Park Flats.

He was white, between 30 and 45 years old, between 5ft 7ins and 5ft 9ins tall, and was wearing a dark blue-black beanie-type hat with a black snood, navy blue jacket and black tracksuit bottoms.

He spoke with a local Yorkshire accent.

The bag he was carrying is believed to have been a bag for life.
