A PENSIONER was cut with a knife when he challenged an armed robber who was trying to steal his car.

The 72-year-old was parking his car on John Street, Masbrough, Rotherham, when a thug brandishing a knife approached and demanded the keys.

When the man refused there was a struggle, and he was cut on his hand before the robber fled.

DC Gary Luckock said: “The offender did not just have this weapon for show and he did not care at all about hurting an elderly man while trying to steal his car.”

The robber was white, aged 25 to 35, with a shaven head and acne scars on his cheeks.

Anyone with information about the incident at 4pm on Wednesday February 16 can call DC Gary Luckock on 0114 2202020 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
