Detectives are investigating at least nine shootings in South Yorkshire so far this year.

Details of nine shootings between Saturday, January 4 and Monday, January 13 have been released by South Yorkshire Police.

The latest incident made public by the force was a shooting on Spalton Road, Parkgate, Rotherham, at 1am yesterday.

No injuries were reported after the gun attack.

Two men, aged 28 and 30 and both from Rotherham, were arrested a short time later and remain in custody today.

The day before, a 12-year-old boy was injured in a drive-by shooting in the Errington Road and Northern Avenue area of Arbourthorne, Sheffield, at around 3.45pm.

The youngster was shot in his leg when a gun was fired from a car as it drove past the boy and some teenage friends.

No arrests have yet been made.

On Saturday, January 11, shots were fired at a house in Balby, Doncaster.

A gunman fired shots at the downstairs window of the property on Burton Avenue between 9pm and 9.15pm that night.

Damage was caused but no injuries were reported.

There were three shootings in South Yorkshire on Friday, January 10.

A 29-year-old man was shot in his back after a gun was fired outside a supermarket on Burman Road, Wath, Rotherham.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and later released without charge.

At 10.55pm that night, shots were fired on Northcote Avenue, Meersbrook, Sheffield and at 11pm a gun was fired during at the Kettle Black bar on Ecclesall Road, Sheffield.

Luca Premi, 24, of Treswell Crescent, Hillsborough, has been charged with possession of a bladed article, possession of an imitation firearm and assault over the Kettle Black incident.

In the early hours of Wednesday, January 8, shots were fired at a house in Lutterworth Drive, Adwick-Le-Street, Doncaster.

Damage was caused to a car on the drive and to a downstairs window of the property.

The occupants of the house were unharmed.

On Tuesday, January 7 a 44-year-old man was shot in his arm on Carlisle Street, Burngreave, Sheffield.

And on Saturday, January 4, a 28-year-old man was seriously injured in a shooting on Staniforth Road, Darnall, Sheffield.
