Joshua Sayers, aged 14, disappeared on Friday night, with South Yorkshire Police saying he was last seen in Creswick Close, East Herringthorpe.

“If it was not for people's help, we may never have found him,” she said.

“To those people who have helped assist, thank you so much for everything you have done, we seriously appreciate all of your efforts at our time of crisis.”

In an effort to help find Joshua, South Yorkshire Police named the youngster, issued his description and published his photograph.

At the time, the force said officers were ‘growing concerned for his welfare’.

No other details have been released.
