Police called out over late night 'rave' in popular Sheffield park
Loud music reported across the city up into the early hours
Police were called out as residents across Sheffield complained about a ‘rave’ keeping them awake into the early hours.
The South Yorkshire Police switchboard was called several times on Monday night into Tuesday morning, as residents struggled with noise which was carrying across the city.

But in the end officers said the noise was not a ‘rave’ after all - but a smaller gathering playing loud music in a local park.
Today officers revealed that the source of the noise was believed to be a group of young people playing loud music in the Ponderosa Park, near Oxford Street, near Netherthorpe.
The last complaint to arrive is understood to have been phoned in just after midnight, early on Tuesday (April 21). Police searched to find the source of the noise, and eventually tracked it down to the park.
But by the time the arrived, the partygoers had left the scene.
Police told The Star in a statement: “We received several noise complaints from various locations in Sheffield during the evening of Monday April 20 and into the early hours of yesterday morning.
“It was reported callers could hear a possible gathering of people and loud music being played for several hours.
“Following enquiries, officers attended the Oxford Street area, however everything was in order and any gathering that had been taking place was no longer present.”
