FIVE men have been quizzed on suspicion of stealing from a quarry in the Hope Valley.
The men, two aged 32 and the others aged 20, 24 and 43, were arrested after reports of suspicious activity around Moss Rake Quarry, Bradwell, on Friday, August 19.
Derbyshire Dales Inspector Bryan Hall said: “We take metal thefts very seriously, whether they take place at businesses, churches, schools or homes.
“I would urge anyone who sees people acting suspiciously around a building, particularly during the hours of darkness, to call the police.
“Similarly, if you see a vehicle in your area that looks out of place, perhaps parked near a business or public building out of hours, contact officers.”
The five men have been bailed pending further enquiries.
