Post office gunmen hunted by detectives

Police are hunting gunmen who tried to raid a South Yorkshire post office.

They struck at the Rotherham Road post office, Maltby, Rotherham, on Thursday, at 10.20am.

Detectives investigating said they escaped empty-handed and nobody was injured.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Two men allegedly entered the post office in possession of a suspected shotgun.

“Nothing was stolen and no one was injured during the incident.

“The men are believed to have left in a van.

“Detectives are investigating the incident and inquiries are ongoing.”
