Popular Sheffield park sealed off and dog handlers called after police incident

Police officers and a dog handler responded to an incident in a Sheffield park last night.

Details of the incident dealt with have not yet been confirmed by South Yorkshire Police but a photograph of officers deployed to The Ponderosa, a park between Upperthorpe and Crookesmoor, was shared online last night.

During a recent search of the park as part of a nationwide bid to tackle knife crime, officers found live shotgun ammunition and spent cartridges.

They were seized for forensic testing.
