Police patrols have been stepped up in Frecheville and officers ‘are working closely with schools’ to identify those responsible for setting off fireworks and causing anti-social behaviour around the Frecheville Pond area.

South Yorkshire Police said: “We are aware of concerns from the local community of anti-social behaviour in the Frecheville Pond area.

“We appreciate the impact this type of crime can have, and we’d like to reassure the public that we have increased our patrols in this area to tackle this issue.

“We are working closely with local schools to identify those responsible.”

The force added: “As the nights grow darker and we approach Halloween and Bonfire Night, we’d like to appeal to parents to speak to their children about the consequences of anti-social behaviour.

“Crimes of this nature can be incredibly upsetting for those affected.”
