CHILDREN at a Barnsley school have been working with police officers to educate motorists about safe parking.
Officers from Cudworth Safer Neighbourhood Team held classroom sessions with children at Cherry Dale Primary School to give them road safety advice before working with them outside the school gates.
There they spoke to parents about the dangers and consequences of inconsiderate parking and speeding.
The children have also designed posters promoting road safety, with some of them displayed on crossing barriers.
PSCO Annette Cooley, of Cudworth Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The sessions provided great advice for the children and seemed to be extremely successful.
“We hope this partnership with the school will encourage parents to park sensibly.”
