Police chiefs have vowed to continue acting on information from local residents despite an unsuccessful drug raid in Sheffield.

Officers raided a property in Sharrow last week in response to information from the local community about suspected drug dealing.

A search of the flat failed to uncover any evidence of dealing.

South Yorkshire Police posted a photograph of officers in action as they forced entry to the flat.

Afterwards, the Sheffield South West Neighbourhood Policing Team said efforts to tackle the supply of drugs in the city would continue.

“Officers executed a warrant at an address in Sharrow following information from members of the local community alleging drug dealing at this location,” the team said.

“On this occasion a full search of the property proved negative.

“We will keep acting on information received re drug dealing in our communities.”
