Murder investigation continues after body found in former Sheffield TGI Friday site - latest police update

Police have issued an update on their murder investigation, following the discovery of a body in an empty former Sheffield restaurant.

South Yorkshire Police announced last week that two women had been arrested on suspicion of murder, after a man was found dead in an empty former TGI Friday’s site on Sheffield Road, near Meadowhall.

They said the women. aged 35 and 54, were arrested after police found the body of the 55-year-old man while conducting enquiries.

Police have now confirmed that the cordon around the building has been lifted.

They added this morning that both the women who had been arrested have now been bailed.

A major police presence had been seen around the area after body was found late on Wednesday.
