The Wincobank, Firth Park and Shiregreen policing team carried out a pre-planned raid on Wednesday and said more operations will follow.

It was the third raid planned since the results of a community survey in March revealed that 45 per cent of local residents want drug use and drug dealing tackled by the policing team.

South Yorkshire Police said: “On Wednesday the team continued to target the areas of policing identified by you, the community, from a survey that was run in March.

“From all the responses received, 45 per cent of people said they wanted us to tackle drugs use and dealing.

“So, with this in mind, we executed another drugs warrant in our community. This is the third warrant executed since the results of the survey landed and is only the start of our continued fight against drugs with more warrants planned in the very near future.”

After Wednesday’s raid, a man in his 30's was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply after a quantity of Class B drugs were recovered.
