In a Facebook post, the North East Sheffield neighbourhood policing team said: “After a few weeks of extensive police work and acting on concerns from the community, yet another drugs warrant was ticked off the list in Burngreave.

“With a substantial property, containing five separate cannabis set ups in various rooms, the early estimate is that the the seized cannabis we have taken off the streets could be worth in the region of £250,000 - £300,000.

“While some people think jobs like this are a waste of police time; when you look at the bigger picture, the disruption to organised crime and the associated gangs created from this one warrant is massive.”

The team added: “This one seizure will not only have stopped a large amount of cash going to these gangs, but also has a knock on effect to drug related crimes such as burglary, theft, drug and people trafficking, prostitution, and much more, and that's before we even talk about the positive impact it has on the immediate and wider community and residents’ quality of life.
