POLICE in Chesterfield seized two cars and issued a series of fines as part of a day spent checking vehicles in the town

During the day of action at B&Q officers checked cars and spoke to shoppers about home and garden security.

They gave out crime prevention advice and handed out UV pens and security tags so people could mark their property.

Sergeant Mark Pearson, who is in charge of neighbourhood policing in south Chesterfield, said: “The day of action gave us the opportunity to speak to people who may have been buying expensive garden equipment about keeping it secure.”
