Police seize £90,000 found hidden in Sheffield storage unit
Police in Sheffield seized £90,000 hidden in a storage unit in the city.
In November 2024, following the arrest of a man on suspicion of drug offences, a storage unit in Darnall linked to the suspect was raided.

Inside, police officers uncovered bundles of cash hidden between boxes - totalling £89,905.
The money was seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
After an investigation by the South Yorkshire Police Asset Recovery Team, the arrested man disclaimed the money.
SYP said this allowed the cash to be used “to positively impact our communities that are affected by criminals”.
Head of Asset Recovery, Laura Hough said: "In this case the arrested man eventually faced no criminal charges and was released without further action.
“However, that doesn't mean our job in Asset Recovery is finished.
"Utilising confiscation orders allows us to ensure that money made from potentially illicit means is seized and put to positive uses.
“This process is helped by intelligence submitted by the public. We can’t do our work without the help of our communities. Your information can help us understand how much an individual has benefited from crime.
“Have you noticed someone in your community who doesn’t have a job or has no explanation as to why they have a second car or why they are suddenly wearing designer clothing? They may be gaining this money illegally.
“If you see something that is not quite right, we are urging you to report it to us, or through Crimestoppers if you don’t want to talk to us directly and stay anonymous.
“Tell us what you know – call 101 or go through our suspicious activity online portal. If you don’t feel comfortable contacting us directly, you can get in touch with Crimestoppers on https://orlo.uk/DUQdi.”
