Detectives investigating an historic sex attack have issued an E-fit of a boy who may have witnessed the incident.

The image shows what the boy was described as looking like in the 1970s, when the assault was reported to have taken place.

He would have been aged between seven and 13 at the time and had blond hair, blue eyes and a large nose.

It is thought that he did not speak English and may have had the nickname ‘Dutch’.

Police think he might have witnessed a sexual assault dating back to the 1970s, which is alleged to have taken place in the Bolsover area.

Detective Constable Katherine Hewitt said: “This is quite an unusual appeal for information in that we have produced an e-fit of a boy based on how he looked in the 1970s.

“But it is possible that he may have crucial information relating to our investigation.

“We hope that someone might recognise the description, or might know of someone who was nicknamed Dutch, and didn’t speak English.

“By appealing for help publicly, we hope to see if he can help our inquiries out, so I would urge anyone who might know him to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should call DC Katherine Hewitt at Derbyshire Police on 101.
