Police seek missing sex offender from Sheffield for breaching terms of 'register'

A police hunt is under way for a missing sex offender from Sheffield.

Abib Gueye, aged 31 and from Sheffield, is a registered sex offender who has failed to comply with the requirements of being placed on the register.

Offenders normally have to abide by strict conditions, such as informing the authorities of any change of address.

Details of how Gueye has breached the register have not yet been revealed.

Abib Gueye is wanted by South Yorkshire Police

He is black, slim, around 6ft tall and has black hair.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Police want to hear from anyone who has seen or spoken to Gueye recently, or knows where he may be staying.“He is known to frequent the area of Brighton in Sussex and is believed either to be in the Brighton or Sheffield areas.

“If you see Gueye, please do not approach him but instead call 999. If you have any other information about where he might be, please call 101.”
