Police have issued an CCTV still of a jacket worn by an offender in two incidents in a Sheffield suburb.

A man wearing a distinctive black and turquoise anorak attempted to snatch a bag from a woman on Melbourne Avenue, Broomhall, on the same day that a man wearing a coat of the same description made a lewd comment to another woman on the same street.

Both offences were reported on Tuesday, February 24.

Officers are investigating three other incidents in Broomhill, including men exposing themselves at women on Newbould Lane and Northumberland Road and a teenage girl being approached by a stranger as she walked to school along Fulwood Road.

Inspector Naomi Saxton, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “We are taking these reports seriously and have increased our patrols in the area at key times and carrying out a number of enquiries.

“However, other than the first two incidents there is no information to suggest they are linked, at this time, but police are keeping an open mind, and monitoring any suspicious incidents in the area.

“We are asking the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to police.”

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 264 of February 24.
