Police search mounted for missing South Yorkshire schoolgirl

A police search has been mounted for a missing South Yorkshire schoolgirl.

Tabitha Zhakata, aged 14, was last seen at around 2.30pm on Saturday, January 25 when she left her home in the Dinnington area of Rotherham to go and meet a friend.

She was reported missing on Sunday, January 26 by her sister when she failed to return home.

Tabitha, who has been missing before, is around 5ft 7in tall, of a medium build and is described as looking older than 14.

It is believed that she might be wearing black, ripped jeans and a black jacket with a hood.

South Yorkshire Police said: “It’s possible that Tabitha has left South Yorkshire and we have reason to believe she’s travelled to Luton.”

The last time she disappeared she left the county.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should call 101 and quote incident number 13 of January 26.
