Police remain at murder scene after New Year's Day stabbing

Police remained at a murder scene in Sheffield today while enquiries continue and officers speak to residents.

A cordon around the spot where 18-year-old Isaiah Usen-Satchell was stabbed on St Aidan’s Road, Norfolk Park, on New Year’s Day, remains under police guard today.

Officers have also been deployed to the area to speak to residents and offer reassurance to those living nearby.

Isaiah suffered slash wounds to his arms and legs when violence flared in the early hours of Wednesday, January 1.

A knife wound to his wrist proved to be fatal.Five Rotherham men have been arrested on suspicion of murder, with two 18-year-olds and a 20-year-old bailed after questioning.

Two men, aged 22 and 27, remain in police custody todaySouth Yorkshire Police said: “Mr Usen-Satchell was taken to hospital on New Year's Day after receiving slash wounds during a reported fight between a group of men on St Aidan’s Road, Sheffield, at about 4.20am that morning.“He sadly died later that day as a result of an injury near to his wrist.“Officers remain in the Norfolk Park area, speaking to residents and providing reassurance. If you have any information about what happened please speak to them.”

Isaiah was a business student at Leeds Trinity University.

A number of tributes have been paid to him online.

His heartbroken sister Iman Anne Usen-Satchell, said he was ‘loved by so many people’.

She told The Star: “He is loved and missed by his family.

“All of his best friends and family members were by his side the day he left.

“No-one ever expected him go go to university but he did.

“He was loved by so many people.”
