Police release update on condition of man shot in Sheffield street

A man shot in a Sheffield street as rival gangs continue to clash is in a stable condition today.

The 24-year-old was injured in a gun attack on Abbeydale Road at around 8.30pm on Monday.

South Yorkshire Police said he suffered serious injuries but is in a stable condition today.

No arrests have yet been made but detectives believe the shooting is the latest in a series of violent incidents linked to ‘organised crime groups’.

In a new statement issued today, South Yorkshire Police said: “The investigation continues at pace and a dedicated team of detectives are carrying out extensive enquiries, including CCTV analysis and scene searches, to identify those involved.

“The victim, a 24- year-old man who suffered serious injuries in the incident, is in a stable condition.

“No arrests have yet been made, however, police continue to appeal for information from the public.”
