Police discovered three guns and 30 cannabis plants as they raided properties across Sheffield, as part of an investigation to disrupt criminal gangs.In the early hours of Friday, May 22, officers searched homes in Heeley and Richmond and found weapons and a cannabis farm.

A 31-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drugs offences. They remain in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Henderson said: “These are really important and significant weapon seizures.

“There’s no doubt that this work has prevented violent acts from taking place, and may well have saved lives.“There will be no let-up in our focus on tackling organised crime groups, and I continue to ask that communities work with us and provide information on suspicious activity or people suspected to have access to weapons.”
