A police probe into two shootings in Sheffield in the space of 40 minutes is continuing today.

Detectives are treating the gun attacks on Machon Bank and nearby Union Road, Nether Edge, on Friday, May 8 as linked.

In the first incident, at around 6.50pm, two groups of men opened fire at each other in the street.

No injuries were reported but two cars and a house were damaged.

At around 7.30pm, a gun was fired at a house on nearby Union Road.

They are both being treated as targeted attacks.A 20-year-old man has been charged with possession of drugs with intent to supply as part of the investigation into the Machon Bank incident.

A number of other men were arrested on suspicion of firearm offences as part of the same police probe and were released under investigation after questioning.
