Police probe pub burglary

A SAFE containing a ‘substantial’ amount of cash was stolen from The Stag public house, Psalter Lane, Sheffield, during a break-in, police have revealed.

The pub was raided on Monday, July 30, at about 4.30am. Two men, aged 23 and 26, have been quizzed by police over the incident.

They have been bailed pending further enquiries,

Police said the stolen safe was green, old fashioned, 3ft tall, 2ft wide, made of cast iron and weighed about 300 to 400lb.

Detectives want to hear from anyone with information about the burglary and anyone who knows where the safe is,.
