Police are investigating a spate of burglaries in Sheffield where doors were forced to gain access.

A house on Batemoor Road, Batemoor, was targeted between Friday and Saturday, with police revealing the door was smashed by a burglar to get inside.

On Tuesday, homes on Gaunt Way, Gleadless Valley, and Richards Road, Lowfield, were also targeted.

And officers are also investigating the burglary of a garage on Plowright Close, Gleadless Valley, which was raided.

South Yorkshire Police published figures this week which revealed that offences of burglary had risen by two per cent between April and August this year.
