Police probe into attempted theft of cash machine in Rotherham

Police are trying to trace would-be thieves who attempted to steal a cash machine in an early morning raid today.

They targeted an ATM on Fenton Road, Greasbrough, Rotherham, at 2.20am but left the scene empty-handed.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police in Rotherham have launched an investigation after an ATM was targeted by thieves.

“At around 2.20am police received reports that a cash machine had been targeted by suspects driving a Land Rover on Fenton Road in Greasbrough.

“Officers believe that the suspects attempted to remove the ATM, before leaving the scene empty handed.

“Officers are investigating the incident and would like anyone with information to come forward.”
