Police probe into Doncaster murder continues after arrests of girls

An investigation into a murder in Doncaster is continuing this morning following the arrests of three teenage girls.

The teenagers were arrested yesterday in connection with the death of Jerry Appicella, whose body was found in his home in Craganour Place, Denaby Main, on Sunday, December 15.

Police officers discovered the body after responding to calls of concern for the welfare of the occupant.

A post mortem examination carried out yesterday revealed that Mr Appicella died as a result of head injuries.

It is believed that he was involved in an altercation with a group of people on Tuesday, December 3 in an alleyway leading to Hickleton Street in Denaby Main.

Enquiries suggest he then walked to his home address, where his body was found last weekend.

Yesterday morning, three teenage girls from Doncaster were arrested on suspicion of murder.
