Police probe city break-ins

POLICE in Sheffield are looking for a burglar who smashed a patio door to gain entry to a house on Northcote Road, Heeley.

A house on nearby Cat Lane was broken into on the same day, last Wednesday afternoon, when a window was forced open.

A property on White Thorns Drive, Batemoor, was broken into overnight last Thursday after a door was left unlocked, and a house on Penrhyn Road, Hunters Bar, was broken into when a window was left insecure between Friday, March 22, and Tuesday, March 26.

Inspector Ian Stubbs said: “Opportunist burglars look for the property that is insecure.

“It’s much easier than breaking in and there is much less chance of being caught.”

Call police on 101.
