POLICE are urging Staveley residents to step up their garage and shed security after a series of break-ins.

Two garden sheds were broken into on Ralph Road between 7pm on Wednesday, March 2 and 9am the following day. Gardening equipment was stolen from one of the sheds.

Between 10.30pm on Sunday, March 13 and 7.30am the following day a garage was broken into on Netherfield Close and food was stolen from a freezer.

PCSO Sue Cooke said: “Please ensure that all sheds, garages and outbuildings are locked and secure.

“We also ask that you check your outbuildings on a regular basis so that any incidents can be reported to us as soon as possible. A small increase in vigilance can have a big reduction on crime.”

Anyone with information should call Derbyshire Police on 0345 1233333.
