Police plans for Wembley trip

Coach and minibus operators taking Chesterfield fans to Wembley next month are being asked to notify Derbyshire Police to help prevent parking problems on the day.

The Metropolitan Police has asked the Derbyshire force for the names and contact details of all coach operators taking fans to the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final against Swindon Town on Sunday, March 25.

The force also want to know the number of coaches each operator is taking, to give them an idea of who is travelling to the stadium and to help them plan parking arrangements to prevent congestion around the ground.

Under Traffic Commissioner guidelines, coach and minibus firms have to notify police if they are planning to take parties of fans to matches.
